LESSON 04 / FIRST CUT / 5 MIN PRACTICE

Make the version you can share.

Choose a frame, check the whole cut and save your editable work.

01

Choose the destination

Set the project to 9:16 for a Short or 16:9 for a wide film. Fit shows the whole source image. Fill fills the frame and crops the edges. Adjust position when the subject is no longer centered.

02

Watch at normal speed

Play the complete cut. Check the opening, every transition, the longest caption and the last frame. Listen for unexpected silence or a sound continuing after its scene.

03

Keep an editable copy

Save project downloads a .rothi file with your edit and imported media. Open it again to check your copy. Browser recovery is convenient; a downloaded project lets you deliberately keep a version.

04

Export your film

Choose Export MP4, then HD or Full HD. Leave the tab open while the progress indicator runs. Play the downloaded MP4 to check the picture, words and sound together. Current desktop Chrome or Edge is the tested editing route.

TRY IT YOURSELF

Your assignment.

Export a portrait cut, reopen your saved .rothi file, and make one new caption version without rebuilding the timeline.
